Our History

The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation was created for the purpose of providing support for philanthropic programs including, but not limited to, education, healthcare in medically underserved communities, the arts and community-based initiatives.

Initially established with a focus on breast cancer, the Pink Pony Fund of the Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation supports programs for cancer screening, early diagnosis, education, treatment, research and patient navigation. Its mission is to reduce disparities in cancer care in medically underserved communities and ensure that treatment is available at an earlier, more curable stage. Ten percent of proceeds from Pink Pony products benefits the Pink Pony Fund.

Pink Pony is a worldwide philanthropic effort. In the United States, Pink Pony Fund beneficiaries have included the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Women’s Cancer Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai, and the Nina Hyde Center.

Internationally, Pink Pony has supported Fondazione Umberto Veronesi in Italy, Breast Cancer in the UK, Association pour la Vie Espoire centre le Cancer (A.V.E.C.) and the American Hospital of Paris in France, National Breast Cancer Centre of Australia, New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, FundAyuda in Panama, Fundacion Arturo Lopez Perez in Chile, FUCA-Foundacion Cancer in Argentina, the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, Susan G. Komen of Germany, the Japan Cancer Society and the Ligue Genovoise contre le cancer in Geneva.
